This policy applies only to our optional premium plan, the paid upgrade that removes daily generation limits on Name Idea Lab. Every generator on our site is free to use by default, so this page only matters if you’ve chosen to purchase the premium plan.

Our Premium Plan Is Optional

Before anything else, it’s worth repeating: nobody needs to pay to use Name Idea Lab. Every tool across our Username Generator Gaming, Social Media Name Generator, Business Naming & Branding Tools, and Culture & Religion Name Generators categories works free, with a fair-use daily limit. The premium plan simply removes that limit for people who generate names frequently or in bulk. This refund policy applies only to that upgrade.

Refund Eligibility

We want you to feel confident upgrading, so here’s exactly when a refund applies:

  • Within 7 days of purchase: If you’re not satisfied with the premium plan, or purchased it by mistake, you can request a full refund within 7 days of your payment date, no detailed explanation required.
  • Technical issues on our end: If the premium features (like the raised generation limit) fail to activate on your account due to a technical problem we’re responsible for, and we’re unable to fix it promptly, you’re eligible for a full refund regardless of the 7-day window.
  • Duplicate charges: If you were accidentally charged more than once for the same premium period, the duplicate charge is refunded in full.

When a Refund Doesn’t Apply

  • Requests made more than 7 days after purchase, outside of technical issues on our end
  • Change of mind after extensive use of the premium features within the eligible window, we ask that you request your refund promptly if you decide it’s not for you
  • Any misuse of the platform that violates our Terms and Conditions

How to Request a Refund

  1. Email us directly at hello@nameidealab.com with your payment details (date of purchase, amount, and the email or account associated with the payment).
  2. Tell us briefly why you’re requesting a refund, this helps us improve, though it’s not required for eligible 7-day requests.
  3. We’ll confirm receipt of your request within 1-2 business days.

Refund Processing Time

Once approved, refunds are typically processed within 5-10 business days, though the exact time for the funds to appear back in your account depends on your payment method and provider. We’ll confirm with you once the refund has been issued on our end.

What Happens to Your Account After a Refund

Once a refund is processed, your account reverts to the free plan. You’ll keep full access to every generator on the site, just with the standard daily generation limit restored. Any names you’ve already saved or favorited remain in your account.
